African American Cultural Association

About Us

Welcome! AACA’s mission is to examine, encourage, inspire, educate, and celebrate Black culture at Mill Creek High School.  Our club not only focuses on the culture and heritage of African-American people, but we also encourage members to take care of the basic needs of all people, by encouraging, inspiring, and educating one another.  In a time when our world needs more love and respect for all cultures, our mission is to develop, communicate, and instill those values in our students as we accomplish our mission.

Dues: $25

Service Cord Requirements: attend 5:7 yearly meetings, at least 10 service hours per year of active membership, and at least 5 in support of AACA (i.e. International Night, posters for Black Month, designing and creating AACA bulletin board on C-pod, etc.). All hours must be recorded on the service log and include picture artifact(s). Service logs and artifacts must be submitted the Friday after Spring Break.

Approved service hours: Community Service activities must support the African-American community and culture, such as volunteering on behalf of AACA with picture artifact(s) and assisting with cultural events in the community.
