National Dance Honor Society

About Us

The National Dance Association leads in promoting and supporting creative, artistic, and healthy lifestyles through quality services and programs in dance and dance education. NDA - Nu Delta Alpha - is a prestigious honor society that recognizes students and professionals for high achievements in dance.

NHSDA - VISION, MISSION, AND GOALS

Vision: We envision a nation in which all students have equal opportunity and access to quality dance arts education and are recognized for their outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in the field of dance.

Mission:

1. To recognize outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in students studying dance in public and private schools in K-12 education, and colleges/universities.

2. To foster an appreciation for dance as a true art form and one worthy of recognition and prestige.

Goals:

1. To identify honor students (grades 11 & 12) for nomination to the NDEO Artistic Merit, Leadership, and Academic Achievement Award, one of the highest honor programs for dance in the United States.

2. To promote a desire for life-long learning in the field of dance.

3. To encourage an understanding of, and an appreciation for, dance as an art form and develop knowledgeable audiences for tomorrow.

Membership Requirements

  1. You must be a member of the Mill Creek Dance Department.
  2. A GPA of 3.2 or higher is required in order to become a member and retain your membership.

Dues
Annual dues are $45 per person and must be paid via MyPaymentsPlus.

Makeup meetings are on Thursday mornings (the day after each month's scheduled meeting) at 7:00am.

Award Opportunities

Members of the National Dance Honor Society are eligible for a variety of award opportunities such as:

  • Member of the Year

  • Recognition for Choreography and/or Performing

  • Recognition for commitment/dedication to the community.

  • Certificates of achievement and honor cords will be given to graduating seniors upon completion of 100 points.
