Grayson Technical High School

Grayson High’s Technical Education Program offers hands-on, cutting-edge courses and equipment that go beyond what is available at other high schools. Students benefit from the program’s business, community, and postsecondary partnerships with organizations such as American Express, Marriott, the University of Georgia, and IBM.

Program areas include: Biotechnology; Commercial Photography; Culinary Arts; Digital Media and Design; Environmental Horticulture; Environmental Science; Hospitality, Travel, and Tourism; IT: Network Systems and Support; Law Enforcement/Public Safety; Music Recording; Music Technology; Technical Theater; Veterinarian Technology; and Video Broadcast Production.

The program is open to juniors and seniors in college prep, technology/career prep, and dual diploma options. Programs are offered in two technical blocks, on a half-day or evening schedule, with classes Monday through Thursday. Students may choose to attend their home school for core subjects, or transfer to Grayson for all their classes.

Transportation is not provided to Grayson from Mill Creek.

Gwinnett Online Campus

Online courses are offered as 8th period classes, outside a student's regular class schedule. Students may take courses to get ahead or to make-up a class previously failed. Online courses allow students to work at the time of day in which they learn best and that best fits their schedule. Although the courses offer flexibility, they are not self-paced. Students have teacher-directed deadlines, due dates, and examination.

Maxwell High School

In partnership with business, industry, labor, and parents, Maxwell High School of Technology will provide students appropriate academic, technical, and employment skills needed to successfully enter the workforce and/or postsecondary institution.

Maxwell High School is a high school that offers career and technical education programs. Students receive unparalleled instruction in a variety of career and technical education programs that include auto collision repair, auto services, commercial art, computer aided drafting and design, cosmetology, construction, early childhood education, graphic communication, healthcare science, public safety, and welding. Students may also participate in the apprenticeship program, working with today's bsiness leaders.

Phoenix High School

The Phoenix High School program was designed as an alternative and complement to the traditional high school program. All students attend by choice and are provided an opportunity to become a self-confident, independent learner. A variety of opportunities allow students to develop and demonstrate the importance of fulfilling adult roles.

All Phoenix students have the opportunity to earn a College Preparatory Diploma. In its first 30 years, more than 6,000 students graduated from Phoenix. The school year is structured with four Mini semesters (9-week periods). This flexible format allows students

from other Gwinnett schools to attend Phoenix in the afternoon or evening to get ahead or make-up classes. Many students from other GCPS high schools have been able to graduate in four years by completing Phoenix coursework.

The school’s success led to an expansion in 2018 as the school opened a satellite program at Sugarloaf Mills, a nearby mall. Phoenix at Sugarloaf has proven to be a successful partnership with the Simon Youth Foundation.

Mr. Robert L. Campbell served as the first principal of Phoenix High School and was instrumental in laying the foundation to support the growth and change that our school has experienced. His motto was “We Exist for Students” and that thought still guides the school today some 18 years later.
